I met Jesus tonight
I saw Jesus on the main street by the little park. It was newly
night as he walked towards me in white robes, seemingly strolling out
of Africa white gowned. The words grace and gracious suffused the
encounter.
As we passed one
another I discerned that his robes were the princely vestments of a priest:
a small magnificence. He went along over to the water fountain to
fill a plastic orange container. Ah: he'll be ministering to the
homeless man on the bench.
I turned and approached
to let him know how beautiful I had found this epiphanous scene. He thanked
me quietly.
I met Jesus tonight
on the high street.
