leave the light that lay ... on main street, between the shops and cinema and quiet shadow houses, street sign clutter, and cross the street the jay-walk dogs. between the houses alleyways. day walkers dowdy turned to night walkers drowsy, whistling the night air. walking just to pass the time. leaving the light that lay across our dreams behind for the dustman to sweep clean silent sunday morning
