I’m turning into a ghostship
uninhabited
how many decades ago
I remember panting for Adrianne
Adrianne Jeff and I
smoking the light fantastic
I don’t remember the room
just the feeling of gloom
an impression of cloth
purple and indigo
the dawn not far off
Jeffery snoring in the corner

a keepsake
we waited on the morn
we had lost the time and times
the sun would squeeze over the chimney pots
and we would still be empty
now it’s so many lifetimes later
sailing where
