there is a wonderful prismatic effect of sunlight on snow that i call the “snowbow”.
If you look at snow in sunshine, at a particular angle (which i have trouble calculating) the sparkling flashes of light reflect prismatic colours! Perhaps because it is sunward, it is hard to photograph. I’ve only just, after many tries, caught a little of it on photograph (the flashing colours, blue here, is quite washed out)…
so, its roughly sunward…
when the sun is low in the sky then it might be 5 or 6 feet in from of you
when the sun is higher, it is further away
and it arcs off into the distance as you look lateral laterally from the direction of the sun
