an angular face
and the blue light played on it
it wasn’t beautiful
but God it was gorgeous
reading eight pages of double spaced type
no one writes a personal letter in double spacing
but she read and reread
on the border of tears
didn’t get off at my stop
so I’ll never know

With words before and aft
she stood before the academy.
I did not know her answers.
I still don’t
He’d waxed the surface
and therefore couldn’t stick the ink
I’d wonderer if it needs words

sightless I marshaled my thoughts,
