trees and water: a puzzle

There’s a thing about trees and the rain; how it’s (relatively) dry under the tree, but, if you are a tree, you want water. So trees must be drinking lots of water through their leaves, surely, only I never heard that at school.

I came here like a falling star
into this kaleidoscope
when I learned to speak
my life became a story
there were a lot of boring bits
my hunger for love
fueled an anger
kindled by sundry frustrations
and humiliations
scoundrels have stolen the world
and are reeking evil in it
and I have no idea
what to do about it
