Tony Blair culled a million sheep
a million cows
blackened the skies
Seth said he nearly became a vegetarian
and he said he realized that everybody
is just doing the best they can
Tony Blair gets up in the morning
and does the next most important thing
As did Hitler, I said
Yes, as did Hitler

of course, one of the big questions is
why aren’t we holding fast to those childhood dreams?
why aren’t we living up to our potential?
Seth says it’s easier to take a whinge

but sometimes
needs gnaw
wants want a bushel
a roll in the hay
every day
a different lass
a looking glass
to see myself augmented
I want a tiara
and I want applause
I want appreciation
and not to care
if I repeat myself
or spout ardent nonsense

like Tony with his million sheep
or Hitler with his Jews
I want to know I’ve done my best
and you to know it too
